A passenger died on an Air New Zealand flight just less than 10 minutes before landing.
The tragedy happened on a fully booked 13-hour Air New Zealand flight NZ31 from Buenos Aires to Auckland.
“Once we landed, the captain came on the speaker himself … and said: ‘Look, we’ve just had a medical event. We can’t get off. Once we get there, the paramedics are meeting the passenger’.”
Passengers had to stay on board the plane on the tarmac for about 40 minutes as authorities were at the scene.
Police confirmed and said the death was not being treated as suspicious.
